I remember my first visit to WeHo Bistro, which I referred to in my review as a West Hollywood haven for fine French fare (also beloved for its free parking). It made a grand impression on me as I wrote it is a “wonderful place for delicious cuisine and tasty wines in a casual, yet inviting setting.”

So, imagine my surprise and delight when I learned it now sports a full bar serving delightful libations thanks in part to winning a special state liquor license raffle.

But at WeHo Bistro, it’s not just about the food or the drinks, it’s not one of the other, instead, both are reason enough to visit and together they make for a fab night out. The powers that be describe WeHo Bistro as a touch of magic and a whole lot of delicious. I’ll second that.

The French-brasserie inspired cocktail bar is open every day from noon to midnight. And let me tell you, any visit to WeHo Bistro is a good time to start with the Wicked Bloody Mary, a fine mix of Chopin Potato Vodka and loaded with juicy shrimp, crispy bacon, and olives. It’s perfect for day drinking but also a fantastic way to start a special evening.

“The new cocktails are designed to reflect the spirit of WeHo Bistro with their craftsmanship and ingenuity, but they are also meant to be fun with a bit of WeHo Bistro cheek,” says Cocktail Consultants Jimmy Seargeant.

Another great starter drink is the Irish Rose with Gunpowder Irish Gin, rose, lemon, pomegranate, mint, and egg white. It’s such a pleasant sipper.

But don’t forget about the eats. A great sharable starter is the French Pâté Platter—a dazzling dish with pork rillette, duck pâté with pistachio, chicken liver pâté, and Pâté de Campagne (country pâté). It is decadently delicious.

And while brunch is served all day as it is an absolute house specialty and neighborhood favorite, consider the soups must haves. The French Onion with Emmental Swiss cheese and homemade croutons is hard to beat, as is the mighty Cream of Mushroom. There’s a damn good reason it’s the most popular on the menu.

Treat yourself right and order a stiff martini to pair with the French classic Escargot a la Bourguignonne with six plump escargot (yes, snails) drenched in an exquisite buttery garlic parsley sauce served with alongside a French baguette. Just perfect.

Another lovely libation on the menu is Jerry’s Kiki with Redemption Bourbon, egg white, and WeHo Bistro’s signature Gold Blend comprised of a house-made lime juice mix brought back from a Yoga retreat in Thailand. The drink is even topped off with gold flakes. Yes, it’s extravagant but it’s also fun and tasty.

When it comes dinner, choose a bistro specialty like the Magret de Canard—a fine duck breast with a cognac and honey sauce served with potatoes Dauphinoise and tomato Provencal. Now that’s treating yourself right.

And opt for liquid dessert with the Coffee Date in Peru with Chopin Vodka, Fair Peruvian Café Liqueur, Kahlúa, vanilla, and espresso.

At WeHo Bistro, relax, indulge, and feel like you’ve gotten away as you treat yourself to a truly inspired meal paired with cool cocktails or a fine glass of wine.
