SUMMER BRUNCH BONANZA

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I do love a nice, long boozy brunch. And one of the best day-drinking brunches in town can be found at Westwood’s Tuck Room Tavern.

From two-time James Beard Award winning Chef Sherry Yard, who spent 20 years working alongside Wolfgang Puck, comes a menu that is comfort food to the max.

During our recent visit for brunch, we started with an order of Crispy Latke Fries served with apple sauce and sour cream. This was a definite table favorite.

Not to be outdone, the Smoked Salmon Stuffed Popovers with dill crème fraiche is a great healthy weekend option.

And since it isn’t brunch without booze, I started with a Blood Mary before moving onto Mimosas. Brunch cocktails, including the Bellini, are $8 each and refills will only cost you $4. Now I’ll drink to that.

Brunch specialties that we really enjoyed included the Crispy Chicken + Waffles served with spicy bacon maple syrup. Delicious!

A more decadent option is the Infamously Decadent French Toast stuffed with farmers market berries and whipped mascarpone. It’s a diet buster but what a way to go.

Egg fans will love the Sweet Corn + Smoked Gouda Scrambled Eggs served with sourdough bread and home fries. It’s a hearty dish that definitely delivers.

Speaking of hearty, the Brunch Burger with spiced bacon, sharp cheese and fried egg is a home run and you can even order it protein style wrapped in lettuce without the bun for Keto followers. Another healthy choice is the spicy tuna served on top of lettuce (think of it as sushi without the rice).

Dessert are aplenty if you really want to take your brunch to the next level. And of course, your experience at Tuck Room Tavern can always be extended by hitting up the iPic theater next door where you can enjoy more of Chef Sherry Yard’s cuisine. The theaters are swank and the seats are beyond comfortable (they recline into beds).
