TREJO’S TACOS & TREJO’S CANTINA
UNVEILS BEYOND ASADA TACO & BURRITO

The new wave of meatless options is picking up even more steam as Danny Trejo and his Trejo’s Tacos and his Trejo’s Cantina have added even more vegan menu items with the Beyond Asada Taco and Beyond Asada Burrito.

Trejo’s Tacos and Trejo’s Cantina already offer several meatless options, including the Cauliflower Taco, Jackfruit Taco and Burrito, as well as the Mushroom Asada Taco and Burrito. The Beyond Asada taco includes Beyond Meat, verde slaw, citrus marinade and pepita pesto on a corn tortilla. The Beyond Burrito offers the same options as the Steak Asada Burrito (of course with Beyond Meat instead of actual carne asada) but with no cheese.

The Beyond Burrito is one of those dishes where you may very well not be able to tell that there’s no real meat there. There’s just so much going on flavor wise, especially if you opt to add guacamole, that you might swear it’s not Beyond.

Meanwhile, the Beyond Asada Taco is so damn flavorful that you may not care that there’s no real meat there. You can tell by looking at the Beyond Meat that it’s not actual carne asada as every piece of “meat” is cut perfectly while the real carne asada is not so perfect. But the flavor is spot on and with the verde salsa and other spices, you just may not care. It is a delicious meatless taco.

Personally, I’m more of an Impossible Meat fan over Beyond Meat but the Beyond Asada Taco as one of the best meatless choices that I’ve enjoyed.

Beyond Beef is the world’s first plant-based protein that looks and cooks exactly like meat. The Beyond Burger packs 20g of plant-based protein and has no GMO’s, soy or gluten. The Beyond Asada Tacos and Burrito are available at all Trejo’s Tacos and Trejo’s Cantina locations.
