THE GASTRO GARAGE
'MAD MAX' ROOFTOP DINNER THEATER

Foodie fans with a fondness for pyromania and a love for all things Mad Max take note because 'Thunderdome' is coming to the W Hollywood rooftop as the Gastro Garage crew, known for cooking by blowtorch, sets up shop with its latest culinary experience Torched. The 'gastro mechanics' are inviting daring foodies to come get their tank torched.

With outdoor dining being the only game in town, this is the time to take in a little rooftop Mad Max dinner theater as guests enjoy this experimental pop-up dining concept serving a slew of flamed dishes, including savory brioche donuts filled with nitrous foam, torched toppings, and finishing oils cooked by blowtorch and assembled on site by the friendly aforementioned gastro mechanics.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, The Gastro Garage dinner series had been postponed but is now back up and running on weekends through the end of March, including special seatings on Valentine’s Day. Those who already purchased tickets will be able to use them towards a future date of their choice.

“Stay safe and healthy and we look forward to torching your tanks in 2021!” the powers stated. And now they promise to do just so.

Offering a one-of-a-kind, blowtorch-powered pop-up dinner featuring an eight-course progressive-style dinner, at Torched, guests are greeted by the gastro mechanics, clad in wielding masks who guide diners through the process, all while wielding giant blow torches with flames flying high to create their savory donut sliders "gastro tanks," skewers, and sides.

The Torched multi-course experience consists of a welcome cocktail; Buffalo Blue Chips; a shot of booze; Cubano Gastro Tank (gruyere foam, torched 12-hour slow roasted pork, Applewood smoked ham, mustard caviar, dill plank); Piston Pizza Gastro Tank (mozzarella foam, torched shredded mozzarella, tomato basil puree, fresh basil); Maple Glazed Carrot Pops; Japanese Marinated Short Rib Drill Bit; Naked Salmon Drill Bit on a skewer; Princess Buttercup Gastro Tank (double chocolate foam, torched sweet peanut puree, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, Nutter Butter powder); and Fireberry Gastro Tank (sweet cream cheese foam, torched balsamic strawberries, fresh cracked pepper). For anyone that requires vegetarian or gluten free options, accommodations can be made with advance notice.

As seen on the Bravo and Travel Channel, The Gastro Garage, an L.A.-based catering company that deconstructs classic sandwiches and dishes and reconstructs them into signature gastro tanks, creates the ultimate action station using blow torches and molecular gastronomy to create savory donut sliders, skewers, and sides.

The Gastro Garage "Torched" production is scheduled to run every Friday and Saturday through the end of March, including two special seatings on Valentine’s Day at 6pm and 8pm. Regular weekend dinners are offered at 8pm. Tickets are $100 per person and available at Eventbrite. Reservations are mandatory.

The Gastro Garage’s Torched experience is scheduled to run Friday and Saturday nights until the end of March. Valentine’s Day Dinner will be offered at 6 pm and 8pm at the W Hollywood, located at 6250 Hollywood Boulevard.
