We’ve all heard about the old school “boy’s club” culture where men, mostly white men, for decades met in a male-dominated structured environment where they excluded women and minorities and conducted business.

Well, times have changed and the power structure isn’t so exclusionary anymore. Now there are even membership clubs for women that creates opportunities for women to thrive and flourish. One such club is The AllBright, which offers a welcoming space for members to conduct business, connect with like-minded women, and most of all, retreat.

The AllBright West Hollywood is the first AllBright club in the USA. Two clubs already exist in London. At a time when the collective voice of female empowerment is getting louder, The AllBright is dedicated to creating opportunities for women to flourish and thrive.

“From London to Los Angeles, we seek to elevate and enhance the modern working woman’s life through moments of connectivity, learning, and collaboration,” say founders Debbie Wosskow, OBE, and Anna Jones.

And unlike the old school boy’s clubs of the past, here, members are welcome to bring guests, including men, who are encouraged to join in and change the conversation.

The new West Hollywood club, situated on chic Melrose Place, is a spacious and elegant destination offering three floors and a large rooftop patio, which offers 360-degree views of Los Angeles.

“This is not just a club, it is a special space where passions and ambitions are imagined, encouraged and realized,” explain the powers that be.

Here is an opportunity for women to mix, dine and mingle. In addition, famed facialist Georgia Louise has opened her first West Coast outpost providing facial services, including her signature Gio Pulse treatment. Also, Lona Vigi, hair stylist to the stars, has opened her very first salon providing hair and beauty services with a menu spanning express blow-drys and nails.

During a recent visit to the club, I was able to tour the lovely facility and enjoy a stellar dinner by Chef Sabrina Gidda who was in town from London.

Dinner began with artisanal breads with herb butter and Brightland olive oil.

Starter dishes included Kale & Cashew with roasted sweet potato, romaine, cherry tomato, pomegranate, cashew cream and black pepper dressing. The Korean Spiced Salmon with Gochujang salmon, brown rice, raw vegetables, edamame, and kimchi was a great fresh, clean and healthy option. Likewise, the Burrata & Pumpkin with spiced roasted pumpkin, radicchio, arugula, seeds granola, honey, and Moscatel dressing was divine.

Club entrees included Baja Fish Tacos with crispy cod, blue corn taco, pickled jalapeño, raw slaw, coriander and lime.

Other standouts dishes included Cauliflower & Kale Orzo with tomato, spinach and chili, along with Jidori Chicken with soba noodle, Omiso, ginger and bok choy, along with hand cut fries served with kimchi mayonnaise.

And don’t forget desserts as Chef Sabrina delighted with Dark Chocolate Pot with raspberries and vanilla cream, as well as Lemon Cheesecake Pot with fruits and granola crumb.

Membership at The AllBright starts at $2,300 annually, with a one-time $300 joining fee. Membership offers access to all AllBright clubs, current and future with New York and DC opening by 2021, and reciprocal clubs worldwide (Hong Kong, Dubai, Singapore, Cape Town, Stockholm, among others). Other amenities include access to member networking events; in-club programming throughout the day; in-house career coaching; and workspaces and Podcast Room.

In addition to the club, AllBright created its Academy, a free ten-week online course focused on career-growth for women around the world.

Whether a woman is looking for a place to getaway and relax or network and socialize, AllBright looks to be such a swank place.
