SWEETFIN
FUELING LIFE THROUGH FRESHNESS
For the last seven years, Sweetfin has been fulfilling its mission of fueling life through freshness with its scratch-made poke. Thanks to its innovative, healthful poke and plant-based bowls, it’s a go-to destination for quick and healthy eats.

Well-known for popularizing Hawaiian poke in the United States, Sweetfin was one of the first standalone poke concepts outside of Hawaii and its 100% gluten-free menu takes culinary inspiration from a number of different cultures ranging from Japanese to Korean.

Now, new nutrient-rich, vegan and vegetarian sides featuring powerhouse ingredients have been added to the menu, including Spicy Cucumber Salad (Vegan); Citrus Kale Crunch Salad (Vegan); Chile Ginger Forbidden Rice Noodles (Vegan); Kelp Noodle Slaw (Vegetarian); and Seaweed Salad (Vegan).

You can order signature bowls, including Spicy Tuna, as well as Yuzu Salmon, or build your own but, to me anyways, it’s the Sweetboxes that seem like the best deal.

The Classic Sweetbox includes the Signature Yuzu Salmon poke over citrus kale salad, Signature Spicy Tuna poke over bamboo rice, Chile ginger forbidden rice noodle salad and homemade taro chips for $20.
Not to be outdone, the Plant-Based Sweetbox includes Signature Ponzu Lime Sweet Potato Poke over Bamboo Rice, Shitake Chili Tofu over Forbidden Rice, Chili Garlic Forbidden Rice Noodles, and homemade taro chips dusted in wasabit furikake, ramekins of gluten-free tamari, pickled ginger and sriracha also for $20.

While the star at Sweetfin is the poke, I have to admit that I’m a big fan of the plant-based options. The plant-based box is so very flavorful and it felt fresher as you can’t always guarantee high-end sushi style fish—at least to my liking. But the plant-based box items tasted good and they’re good for you. And that’s what I want when I’m on-the-go.
FYI, Bowl range from $10.50 for a small and $14.70 for a large. Choose between Bamboo Rice or Forbidden Rice as your base.
Sweetfin locations are spread out throughout L.A., including Larchmont Village, Fairfax District, Westwood, Santa Monica, Venice, West Hollywood, Burbank, and Woodland Hills.
