WOWS WITH WHISKEY WEDNESDAYS

What’s better than happy hour?  How about an entire evening of drink specials that will definitely make you happier for longer than just a single hour?  And that’s exactly the case at West L.A.’s Sorry Not Sorry during its weekly Whiskey Wednesday promotion.

For the uninitiated, Sorry Not Sorry is a playful rosé-wine, cocktail-forward, beer garden and restaurant.  The menu consists of garden party classics while also offering oversized cocktails to-go.  The space currently features a 4,000 square foot open air back patio that provides a “safer outside” dining and drinking experience.

At Whiskey Wednesday, while you chill in the cool outdoor patio, take advantage of $10 classic whiskey cocktails alongside whiskey flights, a $10 beer and a shot, as well as a featured half-priced top-shelf whiskey until closing.  Featured items are always published on the Sorry Not Sorry Instagram.

Alongside whiskey pours and whiskey cocktails, we feasted on bomb bar fare like Marco’s Mole Burger featuring house-made mole, as well as the Shaking Beef Burger with Vietnamese marinade, caramelized onions, farm tomatoes and blue cheese.  A side of Turmeric Garlic Fries just made it all that much better. And if you’re like me and you can’t get enough mole, start with the Chicken Mole Nachos prepped with Jack cheese, sour cream, guacamole and salsa.  You’ll be happy you did.

But Wednesdays are all about the whiskey.  During our recent visit, we enjoyed tastes of West Cork Blended Irish Whiskey (new to me) and enjoyed classic whiskey cocktails, including the Boulevardier, Manhattan, Old Fashioned, and Whiskey Sour.

Other boozy weekly promotions include Try It Tuesday where an off-the-beaten path spirit or cocktail is featured at a special price.  And then there’s Throwback Thursdays where classic drinks are poured for $10.  The bar’s interpretation of “classic” changes weekly.  One week they may spotlight gin favorites like The Last Word or Aviation, or may go tiki with Mai Tai or Daquiri specials.

I have to stay I really prefer the back patio to dining indoors at Sorry Not Sorry.  Let’s hope the al fresco dining experience is here to stay.
