SENSORIO PASO ROBLES
STUNNING OUTDOOR EXHIBITS LIGHTS UP WINE COUNTRY

During a recent wine country trip to Paso Robles for my first getaway in 18 months, I was absolutely blown away by Sensorio Paso Robles, a dazzling display of lights that absolutely overwhelms.

The outdoor exhibit features two light displays: Field of Light—a walk-through experience made of approximately 60,000 stemmed spheres lit by fiber optics, and Light Towers, which features 6ft tall towers composed of more than 17,000 wine bottles illuminated with glowing optic fibers whose colors morph to a movie musical score.

The awe-inspiring displays are the work of British artist Bruce Munro best known for immersive large-scale light-based installations inspired largely by his interest in shared human experience.

Sensorio is the intersection of art, technology and nature, and was designed as a destination for entertainment, exploration, meditation, adventure, and delight. It honors the natural topography of the landscape, offering visitors amusing, musical, and kinetic experiences. The Central California destination launched in May 2019 with Field of Light, and now expands with the première of Light Towers in 2021. Future attractions at Sensorio will include a hotel and conference center.

During our recent visit, there were food trucks, live music, and wine and beer to be enjoyed. The atmosphere was laid back and casual. The entire experience is outdoors and I felt safe the entire time.

Once the sun goes down, the lights come up and your mind will be blown away. I recommend skipping the VIP experience, which includes a private terrace to hangout, as the memorable experience comes from walking throughout the field of lights and taking in every possible view. Personally, I couldn’t get enough of the lovely lights. Get your day’s steps and just relish and enjoy the beautiful landscape and scenery.

The light display has been extended through January 2, 2022. Tickets range from $40 to $110. Children tickets are $21 at the door.
