PEARL’S ROOF TOP
NOW SERVING KICKASS BRUNCH

Who doesn’t love a rockin’ brunch? And when I say “brunch” it is implied that I mean a boozy brunch as brunch without booze is just lunch or breakfast eaten later in the day. And thanks to the folks at Pearl’s Roof Top, weekend brunch just got better.

Brunch is one of the most relaxing meals we can enjoy. It’s a slow, carefree weekend meal we share with friends over drinks and hearty comfort food. In fact, one of the best words to describe brunch is comfortable.

Featuring one of the best rooftops in L.A., dining at Pearl’s with its cool view looking over Sunset Boulevard and beyond is as relaxing and casual as it gets. And a great way to kickoff brunch is with Pearl’s $40 Mimosa Kit, which features fresh fruit puree, berries, fresh OJ, a bottle of bubbly along with cute candy-cane striped straws for a guaranteed good time. And a nice touch is that the bubbly served is Pearl’s own California Brut sparkling wine.

With mimosas in hand, brunch options are plentiful at Pearl’s. You may want to start healthy and go for the gluten free yet tasty Sherried Fig Salad with arugula, spinach, goat cheese, toasted hazelnuts, and fig balsamic dressing. This is a wonderfully light and refreshing dish.

If you want something a little heartier and slightly decadent, then the Brie & Pear Flatbread with balsamic reduction and spinach is a good choice. This is a great item to share.

A more traditional brunch option is the Chicken & Waffles with maple glazed waffles and fried chicken. Now we’re talking brunch! And with a glass of mimosa this is how a relaxed weekend meal should be.

But the brunch bountiful options don’t end there. The Cinnamon French Toast Crunch with crème anglaise, fresh berries and maple syrup is another winner. When I think of a hearty breakfast, I love a stack of pancakes, but when I’m enjoying a boozy brunch I love French toast. While this is a diet-breaking, decadent dish that kind of is what brunch should be about. That’s why I love to get a hike or run in before brunch so as to easy any guilt that will come after brunch and before the nap that’s guaranteed to follow.

If you’re looking for more traditional brunch fare, the assorted Pearl’s Benedicts will not disappoint. There’s the Classic with smoked Canadian bacon, hollandaise and a poached egg (delicious!); Mushroom Florentine with roasted mushrooms, sautéed spinach, béarnaise sauce and poached egg; and the Hemingway with smoked salmon, chive goat cheese, hollandaise, pickled onions and poached egg. All three are brunch beauties that really get the job done. And with mimosas, you’ll never want to leave.

A long, lazy brunch at Pearl’s is the definition of “working for the weekend.” You work hard all week so you can play even harder on the weekend and brunching at Pearl’s, either on Saturday or Sunday, is quintessential Los Angeles. Brunch at Pearl’s with bites and booze is weekend living done right.

Pearl’s Roof Top is located at 8909 W. Sunset Blvd. Hours: Mon-Thurs 5pm to 1:45am; Friday 2pm to 1:45am; Sat & Sun 11am to 1:45am. Call 310-360-6800.
