You may think that it’s a little late to get into the cocktails-to-go game, but, two things come to mind, one, better late than never, and two, with cocktails-to-go apparently here to stay for quite some time, then why not get involved? It’s definitely a win-win situation for local thirsty imbibers.

So, kudos to the folks at ritzy Ocean Prime Beverly Hills for offering two of its signature cocktails as to-go options. Ocean Prime is now offering its Prime Manhattan as well as its Berries & Bubbles as to-go cocktail kits for two, including terrific truffle popcorn, for $45 each. A must-have while at the bar, the Prime Manhattan is a lovely mix of Woodford Reserve Private Selection, Carpano Antica Vermouth, Amaro Nonino, and Rosemary grapefruit peppercorn bitters. The to-go kit, which comes in a very elegant gift-wrapped black box presentation also includes two bags of absolutely delicious truffle popcorn. The cocktails are ready to pour and garnish with cocktail Maraschino cherries.

The other cocktail to-go option is the popular Berries & Bubbles, which is a merry mix of Belvedere Citrus Vodka, marinated blackberries, fresh lemon, and Domaine Chandon Brut. Again, the drink is ready to pour and enjoy.

Personally, I’m big fan of the Prime Manhattan. It’s hard to come by a good Manhattan as most tend to be too sweet and lack balance. But the Prime Manhattan is a well-crafted cocktail with a good punch of bourbon yet well balanced to please and not overwhelm. And the accompanying truffle popcorn is just a splendid touch as it is delightfully delicious.

With an impressive food menu that will happily satisfy all tastes and price ranges, there’s something for everybody at Ocean Prime if you’re looking for a bite to go with your cocktails.  Otherwise order cocktails for pickup and enjoy some lovely libations at home.
