GO GREEK YOGURT
AUTHENTIC GREEK YOGURT COMES TO BEVERLY HILLS

Eating Greek yogurt is all the rage these days but now at Go Greek Yogurt, a shop on Bedford Drive, you can actually enjoy yogurt flown in from Greece.

Why eat Greek yogurt? Well, yogurt is an excellent source of calcium, potassium, protein, zinc, and vitamins B6 and B12, and Greek yogurt is thicker, creamier, has the whey strained out, and is lower in lactose and has twice the protein content of regular yogurts.

At Greek Yogurt, the fresh yogurt is flown in from Greece. Choose between 0%, 2%, or 10% fat content along with actual Greek toppings, which include rose, carrot, quince, sour cherry, and strawberry, among others. Other regular toppings include fresh fruit, goji berries, shaved dark chocolate, flaxseed, hemp seed, toasted coconut, cacao nibs, carob chips and more.

A new concept creation, Go Greek Yogurt is the first actual shop that sells Greek Yogurt to-go. And this stuff is perfect for breakfast, lunch or as a snack. Their authentic yogurt is strained, a process that greatly reduces excess water, whey, and lactose, and the grass-fed Greek cow milk is rich in probiotics and protein. All the fresh fruits and vegetable toppings are locally sourced, all-natural, and largely organic produce, ensuring freshness. This type of yogurt fits into the Mediterranean diet and represents a new take on conscious living: the Blue Zone lifestyle, where a significant portion of the population lives past the age of 100. These communities share a diet of mostly fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes, and probiotic-rich dairy.

Sure, I found the yogurt to be delicious. My concoction included Rose, made in a Peloponnesian monastery every June from a particularly aromatic rose that grows on grounds, with fresh blueberries and figs. But the real standout, and my new addiction, is the savory Greek Salad, made with Greek yogurt, cucumber, tomato, olives, olive oil, oregano, sea salt, and crushed black pepper, served with toasted pita. It makes for a healthy and killer lunch.

Also, note that there’s free two-hour public parking across the street, so don’t feel like you have to keep circling around the block to find a meter. Go Greek Yogurt has also recently started selling olive oil, coffee (the cold cappuccino, which you mix yourself comes highly recommended), and premade parfaits, and you can even buy a little jar of the Greek preserves/jam too.

And no yogurt shop could go without selling soft serve frozen yogurt, choose between plain, honey, wild berry and chocolate. The yogurt and toppings are self-serve and they’re weighed at purchase.

Go Greek Yogurt is located at 452 N. Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills. Hours: Mon-Fri 8am - 6pm; Sat 11am - 6pm; Sun 12pm - 5pm. Call 310-278-8643.
