Still Water Spirits and Sounds

This Dana point favorite has been recently renovated and is offering indoor and outdoor dining. The California Coastal Cuisine menu offers barroom favorites like burgers and steaks but also has seafood and a variety of tasty flatbreads. There is something going on everyday of the week but midweek, separates the hotspots from the rest and Still Water Sprits and Sounds had a full house the wed night I attended. The show was moving the audience in this up close setting. The ambiance was akin to the old BB kings or a baby House of Blues.

Intimate venues like this put you right in the middle of the music being performed on the stage.  We enjoyed a nice evening devouring the Bella Romano flatbread while listening to Jim Summers’s and friends work magic on the audience with their rendition of rock classics along with a few surprises. The audience was loath to leave at midnight but the familiar call of “you don’t have to go home but you can’t stay here” rang out from the bar. I have not closed a bar in a while and was surprised I was there to the end. If you are in the Dana point area you may want to drop in on this local gem.
