MASSIS KABOB
THE ORIGINAL KABOBERY
Fans of Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern cuisine, as well as shopping malls, should be well familiar with Massis Kabob—billed as ‘The Original Kabobery’. With locations in numerous SoCal malls, and now with its first standalone restaurant in Glendale, Massis Kabob is a foodie go-to spot for locals who love authentic and awesome Mediterranean fare.

Founded by the late Hacop "Jack" Baghdassarian 46 years ago, Massis Kabob offers healthy and hearty dishes, many of them oversized, using fresh ingredients in a casual setting.
“We look forward to the next forty-six years of success in sharing our Armenian culture through our freshly made cuisine, while adapting our dining space to a stunning modern format to usher in a new chapter,” said Peter Baghdassarian of the new Glendale street front location.

According to the powers that be, the concept is simple: give customers what they want and do it at affordable prices so they keep coming back.
Back in 1976, when the first Massis Kabob opened in Glendale serving dinner-sized plates with high quality meats and sides it was a fairly new concept in "fast-food”.
“It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to bring our customers the Massis Kabob experience,” the brand is fond of saying. “Only the freshest ingredients, expert preparation, value for the dollar and prompt courteous service is our pledge to our customers.”

Popular menu items include jumbo pita wraps as well as jumbo kabob plates. During our recent visit for dinner, we feasted on oversized kabob plates. The boneless chicken kabob, served over rice with a side shirazi salad (diced cucumber and tomato), is a must-have, as is the beef shish kabob and salmon kabob options. The kabob dishes are actually perfect for sharing or they will absolutely satisfy any ravenous guest. And take advantage of the Combo Plate and enjoy chicken and beef kabobs and your choice of one side.

Sides and appetizers, served with pita bread, include hummus (a must-have), falafel (always a favorite of mine), red cabbage salad, taboule, and garlic fries.
With locations in Glendale, Century City, Culver City, Santa Anita, Sherman Oaks and Canoga Park / Topanga, you’ll always find yourself close to a Massis Kabob ready to satisfy your craving for fab protein-forward dishes (although you can always go veggie too).

The Massis Kabob Glendale flagship restaurant is located at 301 S. Glendale Avenue. Call 818-550-9550.
