REFRESHING DRINKS PERFECT FOR SUMMERTIME

I recently wrote about KÖE Organic Kombucha, pointing out that I’ve never been a big fan of kombucha, but that I found this particular organic, fruit-forward beverage to be extremely tasty and refreshing. I also noted that it would be ideal to mix for summertime cocktails.

As I thoroughly enjoyed flavored KÖE kombuchas such as Blueberry Ginger, Lemon Lime, and Strawberry Lemonade on their own, I struggled at first to spike them because they were so good as is but found myself entirely enamored by the dazzling drinks I crafted.

When you’re looking to make a cocktail with the fermented beverage, I think simple is the best way to go. Keep it to just a few ingredients. If you’re looking to make a margarita, mix a can of the Lemon Lime with tequila and have a fresh lime or lemon wheel available to garnish.

I found that tequila goes very well with kombucha. And that was the case with the mango kombucha, as well as the lemon lime kombucha.

The Blueberry Ginger kombucha paired well with vodka, but was even better with a subtle gin. Garnish either of these drinks with fresh blueberries.

The Strawberry Lemonade kombucha was also excellent with tequila, and was smashing with a subtle gin. Both of these home cocktails were garnished with fresh strawberries.

For the Lemon Lime kombucha, I mixed it with tequila and gave it a thumbs up but it was also grand with Jameson Irish Whiskey. I wasn’t sure how the Irish whiskey would pair but the two actually came off as BFFs.

These home cocktails are so good that it’s easy to overpour the booze so be careful not to overdo it.  For these cocktails, add two ounces of a spirit and then slightly add more if you so desire.
