JOE & THE JUICE
JUICE BAR / COFFEE SHOP LANDS IN L.A.

A juice bar and coffee shop beloved around the world with over 200 locations in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, Joe & The Juice has made its way to L.A. landing on trendy Third Street, Melrose Avenue, and South Santa Monica Boulevard.

Healthy food has never looked so good, the folks at Joe & the Juice like to say about its healthy menu that includes organic snacks, juices, and coffee options. But it’s not just about juice and coffee as other options include sandwiches, omelettes, and yogurt.

Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Joe & The Juice competes with the likes of Starbucks, and Jamba Juice, but offers a whole different experience. During our recent lunchtime visit to the Third Street location, we found the setting to be relaxed, yet edgier than your standard coffee shop or juice bar.

We started with the Serrano sandwich with Serrano ham, mozzarella, avocado, tomato, and pesto. Served on thin crispy grilled bread (panini style) know as JATJ bread, it is imported from Denmark and is gluten free. The result is a crispy sandwich that isn’t heavy yet very pleasing.

Another great sandwich option is Joe’s Club prepared with chicken, avocado, tomato, and pesto. This is also a light and tasty treat that absolutely satisfies.

If you’re looking for a shake, the Avo Shake with avocado, banana, and vanilla milk is wonderful, as is the Choco Shake with raw cacao, banana, Choco almond milk, and vanilla milk.

We were somewhat mixed with the Sweet Yogurt option. Made with coconut yogurt, granola, and strawberry coulis, I would have wanted this to be sweeter but my guest couldn’t get enough of this healthy treat.

The Joegurts are vegan coconut yogurt-based made from clean, organic and fresh ingredients with a similar creamy texture as milk without compromise on taste.

Juices are categorized into three types: Veggie for all green and vegetable juices; Energize for all juices with mint, passion fruit, pink grapefruit, etc.; and Berry for all juices with berries.

“Joe & The Juice has always been about much more than the products we offer,” the powers that be note. “We want to communicate the importance of health without being arrogant, to offer people something more than just the benefits of vitamins and minerals. We believe that healthy lifestyle choices shouldn’t have to be a sacrifice of fun and community.”

Offering a relaxed yet hip environment, Joe & The Juice believes itself to be a global movement that’s not about following the crowd or reading from a script; it’s about youth spirit and energy, celebrating the freedom of individual expression, promoting healthy living and aspiring to achieve human potential.

I like the philosophy and at the very least, in case you don’t want to buy into their concept, I really liked and enjoyed its healthy and delicious menu.

Welcome to L.A. Joe.

Joe & The Juice is located at 8016 W. 3rd Street in Beverly Grove; 8532 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood; and 9632 S. Santa Monica Blvd in Beverly Hills.
