HOT TACOS
TEXAS’ FAVORITE TACOS COMES TO L.A.
Known for having one the best tacos in the USA, the Veracruz All-Natural team from Austin, Texas has set up shop at The LINE Hotel in Koreatown. Rebranded in L.A. as Hot Tacos, owners Reyna and Maritza Vazquez and introducing Angelenos to their beloved migas breakfast tacos, in addition to other tasty menu items such as cauliflower al pastor to grilled steak, fish, and mama’s own cochinita pibil recipe.
Because of the Vazquez family’s ongoing connection with the Line Hotel out of Austin, the plan is to keep the black and hot pink truck parked in the Line lot Wednesday through Saturday from breakfast through dinner. Sundays are for brunch hours only, and on Tuesdays, there are plans for a happy hour as well.
Consider the Migas Breakfast Taco a must-have. A tasty combo of egg, tortilla chips, cilantro, tomato, red onion, carrot, black beans, and Monterey Jack cheese, this is how to breakfast in style. In California we’re used to breakfast burritos but this is a pretty stacked taco that will still satisfy at $.5. I recommend adding chorizo for an extra dollar.
Another menu standout is the Cochinita Pibil tacos made with pork marinated in orange juice and achiote, habanero red onion escabeche served on a crispy grilled corn tortilla. This one is a total winner.
There are also quesadilla options as well as veggie and vegan items as well, not to mention chips and guac, and chips and salsa, along with aguas frescas.
You can’t go wrong with the migas and cochinita pibil tacos. They are absolutely solid.
Hot Tacos at The LINE Hotel is located at 3515 Wilshire Boulevard in Koreatown.
