DODGER STADIUM FOOD
AVAILABLE FOR DELIVERY VIA POSTMATES
With no fans allowed to watch the Dodgers play at Dodgers Stadium this season, fans can still get their baseball grub fix with delivery from Home Plates via Postmates.
Home Plates will serve Dodger Stadium fan-favorites like Dodger Dogs, and garlic fries to go along with snacks, salads, and dessert options. In addition to premium Dodger Dogs, items specially produced by Home Plates include individual thin-crust Brooklyn-style pizza, carne asada helmet nachos, and Dodgers’ blue gelato.
Home Plates delivery is currently available for Hollywood and West Hollywood neighborhoods.
“In launching Home Plates, we’re bringing the unforgettable Dodger Stadium experience home to Angelenos,” said Tucker Kain, president of Dodgers Business Enterprise. “Los Angeles sports fans will now have year-round access to their favorite stadium flavors, whether it’s for a gourmet gameday, celebration or just to satisfy an everyday craving.”
Props to the Dodgers who have reimagined ‘dine-in’ as a new ‘dine-out’ experience, prepping and packaging stadium fare for in-home meals giving fans a chance to enjoy a feast just like at Dodger stadium.
I was a little disappointed that the Dodger Dogs weren’t grilled as they were boiled but it still hit the spot. And the packaging is good as all toppings come served on the side so no food items will arrive soggy.
Obviously the most popular items are the classic Dodger Dog, as well as the Super Dodger Dog. The Doyer Dog is a fave of mine and it comes with nacho cheese, chili, diced tomatoes, onions and jalapeños served on the side. And consider the L.A. Hot Chicken Sandwich, an L.A. K-Town inspired spin on the Nashville hot chicken craze, a must-have.
The Brooklyn Dodgers Pepperoni Pizza was surprisingly tasty, although it’s hardly gourmet. It’s good stadium food but you can easily order better pizza for delivery from a slew of places. Salads are available too but who orders salads at a baseball game? The Championship Rings (crispy onion rings) were good but it wasn’t a very generous portion for $5.25.
I don’t recall the prices at Dodger Stadium but I was happily surprised that the cost for Doyers eats for delivery wasn’t crazy expensive. The Dodger Dog is $5, the Super Dodger Dog is $7.50, the Doyer Dog is $7.95 and the chicken sandwich is $10.95.
While this is a smart business move on the Dodgers part, it’s also a cool way for fans in Hollywood and West Hollywood, for now, to get a feeling of normalcy and enjoy stadium style eats while watching the game from home or just to have a fun and nostalgic meal while staying safe at home.
