DODGER DOGS
NOW AVAILABLE AT SO CAL RETAILERS
When it’s time for Dodgers baseball, it’s time for the world-famous Dodger Dog.
For years, Dodgers fans relished their beloved Dodger Dogs courtesy of Farmer John. Generations of fans have feasted on the beloved stadium footlong hot dog but at the start of this baseball season, Farmer John’s was out of the picture and L.A.’s Papa’s Cantella’s took over production.
Papa Cantella’s is a family owned and operated food company specializing in premium sausages. In 1980, Tom Cantella founded his business with an Italian sausage recipe from his grandfather and a desire to provide the general public with the authentic taste of the “real” Italian sausage that was made in his kitchen as he was growing up. This meant producing a sausage that was made “fresh,” with quality meats and hand blended spices. Today, that desire has expanded into a portfolio of over 150 formulas of fresh and fully cooked sausages. These products can be found on shelves across the country in retail grocers and wholesale clubs, as well as a comprehensive network of food service distributors.
And while the Papa Cantella’s lineup of sausages is vast, it was essential that the Dodger Dog remained just as fans have always loved it.
“Our team worked together to emulate that Dodger Dog so that consumers could have what they’ve had at the stadium for over sixty years,” said Tony Cantella, Co-Founder and President of Papa’s Cantella’s. “We put together what we think is almost exactly like it.”
“The Dodger Dog is synonymous with Dodger baseball, and a ballpark tradition that has been enjoyed by generations of fans,” said Lon Rosen, Dodger Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “It has and always will be an iconic part of the Dodger Stadium experience and we’re proud to entrust the legacy of the Dodger Dog to Papa Cantella’s, a family-owned, local manufacturer with a reputation for superior quality products.”
Indeed, these new dogs are reminiscent of the beloved classic Dodger Dogs. These Dodger Dogs, which are all pork hot dogs so they can be lighter in flavor, are perfect whether boiled or grilled.
Dodger Dogs are an L.A. institution. They’re a foodie tradition. And now the Papa Cantella’s Dodger Dogs are available for home consumption as the Cantella’s brand of Dodgers Dogs are available at retail grocers, wholesale clubs and food suppliers.
