SMOKIN’ ZZS FOOD TRUCK
HITTING THE STREETS WITH TASTY BBQ GALORE

The newest gourmet food truck to hit the streets of Los Angeles is Smokin’ ZZs, which is powered by the Sizzler Test Kitchen. It’s destined to become a hungry man’s new best friend.

Renowned chef Chris Rahdar has lent his creativity and talents to present a progressive and exciting menu for Smokin' ZZs. Menu prices, which include delicious Tri-tip, Pulled Pork, and Fries, range from $3-$10. And make sure to save room for the over-indulgent and decadent Red Velvet Ice Cream Sandwich at least one time.

The truck was actually stationed at Camp Pendleton for several months, where local military tested various menus. While you can’t go wrong with the tasty Tri-Tip, made with slow roasted Tri Tip with BBQ chipotle sauce on a toasted French roll, or the Pulled Pork, slow cooked with BBQ chipotle sauce on a French roll, or even the French Dip, slow roasted Tri Tip on a toasted French roll dipped in au jus, my personal favorite is the hearty Meat-A-Tarian Sandwich for the carnivores, which includes 1/3 pound of slow roasted Tri Tip with 1/3 pound of slow cooked Pulled Pork, two slices of jalapeño bacon, pepper jack cheese, and BBQ chipotle sauce between two thick slices of Sizzler’s world famous cheese toast. It’s filling and a hungry man’s fantasy sandwich, even at $12 a pop.

Non meat-eaters don’t have too many selections besides the crafty Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich that also features Sizzlers’ tasty cheese toast in addition to four types of cheeses. Another winner is the Southwest Slow Roasted Tri Tip Salad, made with slow roasted Tri Tip served over tossed greens, roasted corn, black beans, tomatoes, cheddar, green onions, and fresh cilantro with a tangy southwest dressing – a bargain at only $5.

With an over abundance of gourmet themed food trucks about town, Smokin’ ZZs get it right. They offer a relatively short and simple menu but make sure those items hit definitely hit the spot of any hungry meat-lover. While they’re currently not really catering to vegetarians, anyone looking for a hot, protein fix of meat, meat and more meat will definitely leave satisfied.

Follow them on Twitter or friend them on Facebook to find out where they’ll be serving around town.
