RHUMBAR
COOL CARIBBEAN COCKTAIL LOUNGE ON THE VEGAS STRIP

Bringing the cool mood of the Caribbean to sizzling Sin City, RHUMBAR at The Mirage is a stylish cocktail lounge and outdoor patio perfect to unwind, mingle, sip cocktails, smoke cigars and have a good time.

Located near the main entrance of The Mirage just off the Las Vegas Strip, formerly where Siegfried & Roy housed their tigers, you enter upon a highly stylized frozen daiquiri bar featuring a chic counter serving copious amounts of friendly and flavorful frozen drinks.

“RHUMBAR is a modern interpretation of classic Caribbean culture,” explains Drive This! Entertainment managing partner Michael Frey. “Through an eclectic soundtrack of lounge and world music and contemporary architecture, RHUMBAR delivers a distinctive atmosphere with a Latin vibe.”

With 2,000 square feet, up to 100 guests can be accommodated as thousands of people on the Strip can always be seen taking a peek in as they pass by. Serving stylish and savory rum cocktails, along with delicious daiquiris and other classic libations, RHUMBAR also features a humidor offering an impressive cigar selection.

A must-have cocktail is the highly popular Spicy Lover featuring a balance of sweet and heat made from Cuervo Platino Tequila, English cucumber, Mexican cilantro, lime juice, sweet agave nectar and a dash of spicy Tabasco pepper sauce…it packs a mean punch.

And of course you have to try the RHUMBAR Mojito, the bar’s single most popular drink, albeit a more complex version of the 1940s La Bodeguita del Medio’s Cuban class made with Montecristo 12-year Aged Rum, hand-muddled with fresh pressed cane juice, lime and fresh Yerba Buena mint. If you’re a fan of the Mojito you’ll be hard pressed to find better.

If you want to sample something a little different and off the beaten path, give the Latin Manhattan a try. This spicy, sipping cocktail consists of Cruzan Single Barrel Rum stirred with Caribbean spices, lime, falemum liqueur, a dash of bitters, and a splash of Jamaican ginger beer.

A new drink to me from the RHUM menu was the phenomenal Appleton Estate 21 Year that was as close to straight sipping rum as Cuba’s Havana Club. It doesn’t get any better than this, unless you light up a cigar to really enhance the experience. I’m no smoker but I found the pairing of the Appleton with La Aroma De Cuba truly comforting.

Weekend afternoons are casual and carefree as football is shown, while evenings feature live music and dancing and become a great Strip spot without any pretension.

And do take note of ‘RHUMBASH 2011,’ an exotic New Year’s Eve bash under the stars. Set to the high-energy vibe of RHUMBAR’s sizzling Havanatone Latin night, RHUMBASH will offer lively Latin music, dancing and all-inclusive drink packages.

RHUMBASH 2011 will thrill partygoers with fiery dancers and heart-pounding, live music, transforming RHUMBAR’s outdoor patio oasis into the Strip’s sexiest dance floor. This will be the best location on the Strip to catch the famed New Year’s Eve fireworks show.

Guests will enjoy an unlimited bar package featuring premium cocktails, wine and beer from 9PM to 1AM, priced at $125 per person. Guests can also upgrade to RHUMBAR’s VIP experience, which includes premium Strip-view seating and a bottle of Stolichnaya Elit® vodka or Veuve Clicquot champagne for parties of two or more, available for $225 per person. Tickets are available now at The Mirage concierge desk or by calling 702-791-7416. Tickets will also be available for purchase at RHUMBAR daily from noon to midnight.

RHUMBAR is located at The Mirage and is open from 11AM to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and 11AM to 2AM Thursday through Saturday. Call 702-792-7615.
