THE HIDEOUT
OFFERING GOOD MOOD, FOOD & DRINK
Serving savory comfort food with a modern twist, The Hideout, located in the Hollywood Heights Hotel, a mere stone’s throw from the Hollywood Bowl, is a chic and contemporary dining gem.
An ideal place to hit up for dinner before a concert at the Bowl, or after the show for tasty cocktails, recent concerts by the likes of Dave Matthews, and John Mayer, each saw huge after-parties take over The Hideout.

I recommend starting off with one of their signature and potent drinks such as the
Pomegranate Margatini made with Herradura Silver, pama liqueur, and pomegranate juice…just wonderful. The Hollywood “Walk of Fame” Martini, with Belvedere Vodka, Goldschlager, pineapple juice and topped with cherries is another fine selection. And be forewarned, the stiff tequila-based Heritage drink packs one mean punch.

Looking for a small bite to start your meal, the trio of Sliders with bacon, blue cheese mini chunks and brioche buns are a must have. The buns are a no-no to someone health conscious but these sliders, served with sliced pickle, are some of the best I’ve had.
Offering a new take on the classic Caesar, I honestly prefer the original which is a personal favorite (why fix something if it ain’t broke?), this hearty salad with hearts of romaine with sherry dressing, along with your choice of grilled chicken, salmon or ahi tuna, with hard cooked egg, roasted tomatoes and artichokes, parmesan reggiano and garlic croutons is refreshing and filling.
Looking for something a little different in your entrée, or Commitments as the Hideout menu calls them, the Pot Pie A La Mood, with field greens or slaw, sounded just too tempting to pass. Being a pot pie guy I have to give the chef props for creating a dish any hungry man would relish devouring, but I must say this is in actuality a casserole as there is no crust on the bottom of the plate which is in fact what makes a dish a bona fide pie.
If you want the more traditional meal, you can’t go wrong with the ever so tender Braised Beef Short Ribs with sweet and spicy Asian glaze, ginger slaw and cilantro. Honestly, the meat just falls off the bone. Heavenly! And the sauce is to die for. I couldn’t let it go to waste so I poured the leftover on top of the ginger slaw just to savor every last drop.
Another wonderful selection is the mouth-watering Rib Eye with Mushroom, Asparagus and Fries. Flavorful and juicy, you can’t go wrong with this order.
Proud of their impressive selections of tequilas, I couldn’t help but order a couple of shots. The Casa Nobles Reposado and the Don Ramon Silver were first-rate. Good stuff indeed.
And thanks to the tequila shots there was no way I was going to say no to dessert. The House Made Bread Pudding with its sweet caramel sauce hit the spot. This was comfort food at its finest.
With a cool, laidback, lounge vibe, we actually opted to eat al fresco in the restaurant’s comfy patio. You couldn’t ask for a better setting.
