CARVERY KITCHEN BRINGS
“THE ART OF THE DELI” TO SANTA MONICA
Everybody loves a good sandwich, it’s one of the most basic and heartiest of foods, and now folks on the west side in Santa Monica can relish the taste of fine sandwiches courtesy of Carvery Kitchen, which is aptly bringing together traditional deli with a healthy, California twist.
Run by Roman Shishalovsky and his daughters Diana and Karina formerly of Roman’s in the San Fernando Valley, all dishes at Carvery Kitchen are developed personally by the Shishalovsky family and are quintessentially Californian. Each exemplifies “the art of the deli” by melding crisp farmers market produce, freshly-baked breads from well-honed personal recipes, slow-roasted meats, fish and vegetables and delicious spice combinations.
“We are committed to serving incredibly delicious, healthy and fresh delicatessen food in style that takes full advantage of the abundance of fresh produce that we have in California,” says Chef/ Owner Roman Shishalovsky. “Our vision, my daughters and I, has been to share our passion for extraordinary food by creating new takes on traditional dishes. By combining garden fresh produce, slow-roasted, tender meats and interesting, unusual spices, we have created a new approach to ‘deli' that we call ‘California deli'. My daughters and I are excited about this new venture, and introducing this new approach to dining to the vibrant Santa Monica and Los Angeles food scene.”
During our recent visit for lunch, we feasted on a bevy of tasty sandwiches, including brisket dip, pulled pork dip, and satisfying roast beef, and BBQ brisket sandwiches. This is definitely comfort food at its core. What’s more comforting that a delicious sandwich to get you going through the day?
