WANT TO SPEND A NIGHT IN A MEXICAN TEQUILA BARREL?

Tequila drinking may result in waking up in some very interesting places, however, a tequila barrel would hardly be a realistic option. But visit the Casa Noble distillery in Tequila, Mexico, located 45 minutes south of Guadalajara, and you can make that a reality.

That’s right, day drink in the city of Tequila where you can visit the working Casa Noble distillery and enjoy some of the finest tequilas on the market and then spend the night in one of four elegant haciendas or in really cool tequila barrel-shaped room nearby.

As you find yourself in the midst of 3,000 acres of agave plants and 150-year-old mango trees, choose to stay in one of four lovely villas, each with its own theme decorated by a local artist. One such villa is decorated in honor of Mayahuel, the goddess of Tequila, which is decorated with baby agaves.

But it’s staying in one of the oversized barrels where it’s really at. For that experience, contact Matices Hotel de Barricas where your giant barrel comes equipped with a king-size bed as well as a rain shower. The barrels are very modern as they are equipped with cable TV and telephone in case you need to talk to the front desk, whereas the Casa Noble villas are more about getting away and relaxing—returning to a simpler time.

Either way, you’ll find yourself on a fully operational distillery where you can taste tequila to your heart’s content, not to mention bottle your own handmade spirit as well as watch agave harvesting.

“In the distillery, guests have a chance to make their own tequila and taste our tequila straight from the barrels, or direct out of the still to taste the pureness of our tequila,” says Casa Noble founder Jose “Pepe” Hermosillo. “We also have an on-site museum, which you can walk through before tasting the fruits that are on our farm used to make the tequila and our very own restaurant where guests can experience a tequila dinner pairing.”

A night in one of the cool barrels will cost you roughly just under $200 a night. For more information, click here.
