BAREBELLS
FUNCTIONAL FOOD THAT TASTES GOOD

If you’re like many of us these days, the question of what to eat while at home is a big deal. When I was working in the office, I had a daily routine of small snacks throughout the day. But while in self-quarantine, many people have said, ‘Screw the rules.’

If you’re still looking to stay on a relatively healthy track, then you should consider Barebells protein bars—delicious power bars with 20g of protein and no added sugar. They’re a treat you can feel good about while safer at home.

Based in Venice, Barebells was originally launched in Sweden in 2016 and have been available in the U.S. since January 2020. Currently there are four flavors to choose from. There’s White Chocolate Almond; Salty Peanut; Caramel Cashew; and Cookies & Cream. Each bar has 200 calories and is a great and delicious snack to tide you over until your next proper meal.

I tried Barebells for a week, enjoying one bar in between my post workout breakfast smoothie and lunch. I have to admit that it did taste better than my usual mid-morning snack of an apple. The bar tastes good—come on, it tastes desserty—and it’s good for you. It’s a win-win situation.

Supposedly the flavor and design are influenced by the American fifties. It should be noted that the bars are not lactose free; contain gluten; and are not vegan as they contain milk protein and collagen. And since they’re high in protein, they’re great for a post workout recovery treat and are well suited for exercise and fitness enthusiasts.

It’s always great when you can enjoy the flavor of something that’s good for you.

Barebells are available at Amazon. Click here to access a store locator.
